GTA 6 Unlock Times: 15 PS5 Regions, 19-Hour Spread, Xbox NZ Trick Lives

Know Your Time Zone, Know Your Advantage

GTA 6 lands November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S — but when you actually get to play depends on where your account lives. Per Eurogamer, fan site GTAVice.net dug through PlayStation Store data and found 15 different regional launch times for PS5 digital pre-orders. They range from 11am UTC on November 18 at the earliest to 6am UTC on November 19 — a 19-hour gap.

New Zealand goes first, at 12am NZDT on November 19. Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua go last, at 12am CST on November 20. Some store pages — Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman and Qatar — show no timestamp at all.

The Xbox Angle

Your PS5 unlock is tied to your PlayStation Store account region, not where you're physically sitting. Pre-order on the UK store from Canada and you unlock with the UK. The code-in-box physical version is region-locked too — Rockstar clarified which countries are affected after multiple retailers issued warnings.

Xbox is the loophole. The console lets you switch region and store from the system menu, and copies aren't locked to any particular region — so, as Eurogamer puts it, changing your region to New Zealand is all you need to play GTA 6 as soon as humanly possible. It's the same trick Call of Duty players run every year.
